Terapia Cranio Sacral

Craniosacral System - Therapy

The craniosacral system is composed of the cranial bones, meninges, sacrum and cerebrospinal fluid.

It is a physiological system where any alteration can change the whole functioning of the nervous system.

The main purpose of craniosacral therapy is to eliminate tensions and obstacles which block up the free circulation of the cerebrospinal fluid, promoting thus, a deep relaxation and a well-being state at physical, emotional and mental levels.

The application of this technique has led to positive results in the treatment of bodily disruptions such as: stress, chronic and acute pains, migraines and other disorders related to the central nervous system.

Its an excellent aid to conventional therapies. Cerebrospinal fluid The production of this fluid results from the filtering of blood through the choroid plexus, flowing then along the ventricles and then it is distributed through the system.

Although the fluid production causes an increase of internal pressure of the craniosacral system, its absorption causes the pressure decrease. All this movement which alternates the fluid production and its absorption denotes a rhythmic pulse. When the fluid moves, the membranes containing it also move at an average of 6 to 12 cycles per minute.

The cerebrospinal fluid has the role of absorbing impacts and promoting biological protection, by distributing defensive elements throughout the structures that are bathed by it. It consists of proteins, glucose, urea and salts.
